Flixster, the popular Facebook app, is now available on Blackberry. With the Flixster app, you can check local showtimes, get directions to and maps of the theater, read Rotten Tomatoes reviews, and purchase tickets to the films you want to see.
Flixster and Blockbuster lets you stream video directly to your television and desktop or laptop PC. In fact blockbuster announced this fall that if you purchased 25 movie rentals in advance for $99, they’ll throw in the blockbuster one demand media point player for free. So if you’re a movie fan like I am, you’ll also want to purchase Roxio’s DVD to Blackberry ripping software program to compress that movie onto your Blackberry phone. Please be aware that copying Hollywood movies is illegal. The flixster application for Blackberry is also lets you the purchase tickets online with your Blackberry phone so you don’t have to drive down to your theater twice to purchase a ticket.
If you plan on having a movie night at home, Flixster also features a DVD catalog with over 50,000 movies in it. Not sure what movie you want to see?It’s not practical to be streaming movies onto your Blackberry device because you’re can have to be paying for that battle with. So what I recommend if you go ahead and download the flixster application, you’ll also want to access the flixster’s database of 50,000 movies that you can watch at home on a large plasma screen TV.
